Ann Saffi Biasetti LCSW-R ERYT-500 is a Psychotherapist, Yoga Teacher, Certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Practitioner & Certified at the advanced level in Restorative Yoga Therapeutics.
She has been a practicing psychotherapist for 20 years specializing in working within a holistic East/West psychology framework. She incorporates aspects of yoga, mindfulness, spirituality & body work into her sessions, working to integrate body, mind & spirit. Her belief system is that "we all are born with the tools we need, it’s just a matter of finding them."
She maintains a private practice in psychotherapy & yoga therapy in Saratoga Springs.
Her interests always lied in the area of body/mind integration. In 2007 she received her 200 hr. yoga alliance certification through Fairfield Yoga studying with Alexa & Andrew Lane. from that point on she was "hooked." She went on to receive a certification in prenatal yoga & began her training in Restorative Yoga with master teacher Judith Hanson Lasater, who studied under BKS Iyengar & was responsible for bringing restorative yoga to the Western world & popularizing it to where it is today. Ann continued on with Judith to receive her advanced training in Restorative Yoga Therapeutics. She currently trains extensively with master teacher Sadi Nardini, founder of Core Strength Vinyasa Flow, in the principles of building an asana practice from the core. Ann is now certified at the ERYT-500 level through Yoga Alliance.
Ann continued to pursue the passion she has for body/mind integration by studying with Amy Weintraub, creator of "yoga for depression", Bo Forbes, founder of The Center for Yoga Therapeutics in Boston, & Bessel Van Der Kolk, world renowned leader in trauma recovery & innovative body/mind approaches to trauma recovery.Ann Specializes in working with those with disordered eating & trauma. She developed a yoga therapy group for patients with eating disorders at Four Winds Hospital. She recently developed & runs a group program in the community for body, mind, spirit integration using principles of mindfulness, meditation, yoga & spirituality.
The training she is most proud of professionally & personally is the one she just completed, as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist. The rigorous training was over 750 hrs. & took 2 years to complete. She describes her training as transformative & life-changing. Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is an experiential approach integrating aspects of psychology along with body/mind awareness & spirituality. She’s honored to work with clients in this capacity & to be a witness to their growth & transformation.
Ann lives in Saratoga Springs with her husband Scott & their 3 children. Awesome twin boys who are now 13 & her "beautiful yogini" daughter, almost 9, her 2 dogs & 1 cat.
