Mary HooverLike many modern Yoginis, Mary first came to yoga primarily seeking the physical benefits. After having lived a sedentary life, with no real connection to her body and being new to the world of fitness, she began experimenting with many kinds of physical workouts. In yoga she found not only the connection she was seeking but also that simple movements can lead to freedom, providing an opportunity to move through each moment of life with awareness and acceptance.

Mary teaches vinyasa-flow-style classes leavened with humor, while instilling the importance of proper alignment and a deep core awareness. Through the use of pulsation, repetition, breathing and great music, she eases students into a transformative space with compassion and encouragement. She believes that, if we are willing to let go and be present, then every step, on and off the mat, is an opportunity to learn something new. As a yoga teacher, her lighthearted and energetic spirit makes even her challenging classes fun and accessible in a non-judgemental environment. Mary is a 200hr-RYT certified vinyasa yoga teacher registered with the Yoga Alliance. She received her training from Gopi Kinnicutt at Yoga Mandali, in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Off the mat, Mary can be found surrounded by beautiful fabrics, cutting them up and sewing them back together in some unusual way. She is a quilt-book author, pattern publisher, quilt and fabric designer, mother of two wonderful daughters and wife to a very patient man They all live in Ballston Lake.
