Julie has been a student of yoga for over 20 years, and became a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher in 2008 under the guidance of Gopi Kinnicutt. She has a passion for yoga knowledge and continued on to complete her 500 E-RYT with Janet Stone in San Francisco. Julie has studied under many inspirational teachers, including David Swenson, Beryl Bender Birch, Shiva Rea, Dharma Mittra, Natasha Rizopoulos, and Sadie Nardini. Based in Saratoga Springs, she leads daily classes, workshops, and international retreats. She is devoted to a path of wellbeing and helping others on their journey.
Julie is mother of two amazing adult boys, who are a big part of her life. They humble her and keep her grounded, continuing to test her and teach her many life lessons. While raising her young children, she sought out an activity that would bring her life structure, balance, and stability. She attended a local Ashtanga class and instantly fell in love, and felt that she arrived “home.” The vigorous physical practice, along with the chanting and meditation, allowed her to connect back to her “SELF.” This yoga discipline kept her focused, fit, and connected—just what she needed at that point in her life. As she experienced other disciplines of yoga and other teachers, she began to change and evolve in many ways.
Julie is forever a student of yoga. Her personal sadhana practices and teaching style are always evolving and transforming. She is an intuitive and empowering teacher with passion and enthusiasm for life and teaching. She encourages others to cultivate life awareness, pursue their visions and dreams, find meaningful purpose, and always study themselves. She wishes to share her yoga knowledge and life experiences, and is truly grateful for the opportunity to serve.
